Jonathan Prince

The Liminal series examines the elusive thresholds between presence and absence, matter and void. In this body of work, Prince turns his attention to the quiet, ambiguous spaces that exist in between, negative spaces, dark matter, and transitional moments that resist clear definition. Each three-dimensional form is conceived as a dialogue between material and immaterial realms: the tangible, light-responsive surfaces articulate the present, while the surrounding voids evoke the spaces from which matter emerges. Through this interplay, the series contemplates the generative potential of absence, positioning the liminal not as a void to be crossed, but as a site of mystery, emergence, and transformation.
